A strong Statement of Purpose answers three questions in order: why this subject, why this university, and why now. Everything else is supporting evidence.
Open with a specific moment, not a quote. Tie every paragraph back to a module, a professor's research, or a lab at the target university. Close with what you'll do in the first 12 months after graduation.
Length: 800–1000 words for most UK programmes. Cut every sentence that could apply to any applicant.
