Frequently asked
United Kingdom questions, answered straight.
Will I get the Graduate Route?+
Yes — every taught course on a Student visa is eligible as long as you complete it and stay onshore during the final term.
Do I need IELTS for every UK university?+
Not always. MOI (Medium of Instruction) letters work for some universities; others accept Duolingo English Test or a UKVI-verified PTE. We confirm requirements per university and per course before you book an exam slot.
How much money do I need in the bank for a UK student visa?+
Tuition for year one plus £12,006 (or £15,609 for London) held for 28 consecutive days before applying. Funds must be in your own, your parents', or a legal guardian's account — not friends or extended family.
Is the January intake real, or is it a filler intake?+
It is real. Around 60% of UK universities run a January intake for business, computing, data science, and public health. Class sizes are smaller and September rejections often convert to January offers.
Can I switch from a Student visa to a Skilled Worker visa without leaving the UK?+
Yes, in-country switching is allowed once you have a Certificate of Sponsorship from a licensed employer. Our solicitor partner Stonebridge handles the switch application.
Can my spouse and children come with me to the UK?+
Dependant visas are available only for PhD, research Masters, or government-sponsored students under current 2024–26 rules. Taught Masters students can no longer bring dependants.
How long does a UK student visa take to process?+
Priority processing is typically 5 working days from the biometric appointment. Standard is 3 weeks. We book priority for every September applicant by default.
Do UK universities accept 3-year Indian Bachelors for a Masters?+
Yes — the vast majority accept 3-year Bachelors from NAAC A/A+/A++ or UGC-recognised universities. A few require 15 years of prior education and we flag those before you shortlist.
What happens if my UK visa is refused?+
You get a written refusal notice with the exact paragraph of the rules cited. Most refusals are financial-evidence errors and are winnable on re-application within 28 days. We do refusal-fix cases every month.
